The Newest Shopping Solution Debuts

JUXTA

In August, JUXTA, the global technology and micro-convenience company, launched its innovative solution, rapidly gaining traction among businesses in the EV value chain and attracting multiple retail partners across the USA.

The JUXTA Nomad debuted last month at the Renewal 2023 festival in Buena Vista, Colorado, where it showcased its ability to cater to high-demand yet remote locations, serving thousands of festivalgoers around the clock.

Renewal 2023 also forged a groundbreaking partnership with Choice Market, a leading retailer headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with outlets nationwide. The first Choice Market Nomad micro-store is set to open in Denver, marking Colorado's first portable, autonomous convenience store and revolutionising the traditional retail experience.

Another significant retail partnership has been established with Golden Pantry Food Stores, headquartered in Watkinsville, Georgia. Golden Pantry's inaugural Nomad store will open in Wire Park, Watkinsville, GA, a modern mixed-use development created from a repurposed factory. The integration of JUXTA's autonomous store in this location aims to cater to a diverse range of visitors, from residents to daily guests, around the clock, without needing staff.

Co-founder of JUXTA, Om Shankar, commented on the rapid adoption of the Nomad micro-retail stores, highlighting that signing retail partners and receiving inquiries from some of the world's largest EV OEMs validate JUXTA's vision for the Nomad solution.

"Our unique combination of proprietary technology and store format, in collaboration with renowned brands, has the potential to redefine the industry," said Shankar.

"Our solution addresses a multitude of challenges in the retail segment, from real estate costs and utilisation, squeezed profit margins, access to 24-hour service, labour shortages, and staffing issues, including instant, simple, and contactless payments, as well as quick setup in any location, no matter how remote."

The Nomad offers a comprehensive solution to these challenges, and JUXTA believes it to be the most profitable per-square-foot convenience retail format globally.

Shankar continued, adding that thanks to JUXTA's innovative, proprietary technology, Nomad provides a comprehensive suite of real-time data, enabling operators to optimise their retail strategy, precisely target customers by stocking high-demand items, reduce waste, and maximise efficiency and profitability.

With no need for staff or a counter, the Nomad's interior space of 264 square feet (24.5 meters) is entirely dedicated to stocking. Alongside state-of-the-art shelving and presentation units, this space allows for storing 500 to 600 fast-moving, high-margin items.

Inside the Nomad, shelf and cabinet sensors instantly detect when an item is picked up, while a network of cameras anonymously identifies customers. This information is aggregated in the cloud to create a digital basket for each customer. JUXTA's AI-driven technology will consolidate purchases if a family or shoppers enter the store.

Customers can verify their purchases (and, where applicable, purchase age-restricted items in compliance with regulations) on a large touchscreen before leaving the store. Alternatively, they can exit and trust the technology to record their purchases and charge their credit or debit card accordingly.
