A Victory For Safe Drinking Water

GF, Technology Solution

The upnxt23 Hospitality Festival, from 21 June to 22 June at the Science Congress Centre Munich in Garching, was attended by approximately 850 hospitality sector professionals. During the upnxt23 Festival the 'Start-up Award 2023' and 'Product Innovation Award 2023' were presented. GF Piping Systems could celebrate becoming the innovation award pitch process winner with its Hycleen Automation System (HAS).

The festival focused on providing insights into future hospitality topics and encouraging inspiration and networking. The festival is the brainchild of the hospitality platform Elevatr in cooperation with the German Hotel Association (IHA). Key industry players such as the HSMA and DEHOGA Bavaria trade association and renowned hotel brands participated in the upnxt23 Hospitality Festival.

More than 50 speakers on three stages guaranteed diversity of content and plenty of food for thought. One goal of the IHA is to promote the development of practical digital products. With this in mind, the 'Start-up Award 2023' and 'Product Innovation Award 2023' were created and presented during upnxt23.

The three finalists chosen from among the preferred partners for the 'Product Innovation Award 2023' were ADA Cosmetics International, GF Piping Systems, and MICEDESK. Roger Miksch and Thorsten Peinelt, both Business Development Managers at GF, proudly accepted the trophy after their award-winning performance, presenting the advantages of the Hycleen Automation System to the audience.

This holistic solution combines sensors and digitised valves connected to a master control unit. It can be just as easily integrated into existing buildings (retrofitting) as new ones.

The master control unit independently performs hydraulic balancing and targeted flushing based on temperature and flow measurements. Hycleen ensures the consistent distribution of water flow and water temperatures throughout the entire building.

"A constant, optimum hydraulic balance is not just an elementary component of drinking water quality. Due to Hycleen's automated regulation, the circulation network can operate at lower temperatures and volume flows. Digitising drinking water hygiene can thus save energy," explained Thorsten Peinelt.

The system saves hotel managers time and money in three core areas: ensuring drinking water hygiene, early-stage error identification and data collection to increase efficiency. "Guests in hotels expect drinking water of food-grade quality. We are the hospitality industry's reliable partner for this," said Roger Miksch.

"The smart Hycleen Automation System from GF Piping Systems ensures permanent quality with intelligently controlled valves in the drinking water network. This means drinking water hygiene, reliable digital monitoring and documentation throughout the building without legionella and with the most efficient and environmental energy use."
