Sidel has released an interactive tool that calculates potential savings for primary packaging, based on customisable use cases.

Packaging optimisation tool
Sidel’s new Packaging Optimisation Tool delivers an interactive experience that lets visitors calculate packaging savings through customisable scenarios. This tool offers a comprehensive range of levers, such as bottle neck, body, and base changes, as well as adopting partial labels or integrating recycled PET.
As users explore possible shifts in these areas relative to their current production, they will see the changing savings per year, both in costs and GHG emissions.

Sidel enables producers to achieve savings and sustainability targets by making important choices, enabling significant PET savings through lightweighting and optimising packaging design, with reductions of up to 40 percent in bottle neck weight, 35 percent in body weight, and 20 percent in bottle base weight.

High-performance technology
Beyond packaging design, producers can go even further with state-of-the-art technology to achieve additional savings. Redefining lightweighting, Sidel’s latest EvoBLOW Laser also brings an additional ten percent lightweighting on average without sacrificing performance.
Sidel’s newest partial label roll-fed labelling solution can deliver labels with up to 75 percent material reduction, and the EvoFilm Stretch secondary packaging solution reduces plastic film by 50 percent. These solutions enable additional savings, allowing manufacturers to remain competitive and contribute to sustainability.
