Whāngārā Farms Appoints New CEO

Whāngārā Farms has named Anthony Creswell its first Chief Executive, reinforcing its commitment to expanding in the New Zealand agribusiness sector.

Creswell is highly skilled in strategy, governance, and management and brings extensive experience, solid rural sector connections, and broad commercial networks.

The move is viewed as a strategic measure to establish Whāngārā Farms as a leader in animal production and environmental management, specialising in producing high-quality sheep, cattle, and wool for domestic and international markets.

Creswell's commitment to innovation, growth, and excellence aligns perfectly with Whāngārā Farms' values and objectives.

"I have a strong connection to Whāngārā Farms. My father was the farm manager at Pakarae Station from 1974 to 2000, and my grandfather was the Whāngārā Farms supervisor from 1948 to 1964. I am also a shareholder of Whāngārā Farms, in Tapuwae Whitiwhiti Incorporation," said Cresswell.

"A crucial challenge in our pastoral farming industry is balancing environmental stewardship, sustainable practices, and economic viability. I am deeply committed to creating opportunities for individuals and communities to grow and develop."

Ingrid Collins, Chair of the Board, expresses enthusiasm about Creswell's appointment, emphasising the importance of innovation in achieving long-term farm performance objectives.

"We are very excited to bring in an individual with extensive leadership and management experience throughout all sheep and beef industry levels".
