Multiple Golds for Sait Clair Family Estate

Saint Clair Family Estate is celebrating six gold medals after the announcement of the winners at the Marlborough Wine Show, sponsored by QuayConnect.

Run by Wine Marlborough, the show promotes sub-regionality and diversity of wines grown in New Zealand’s largest wine region. This year the judging at the Marlborough Convention Centre took place under strict Level 2 COVID guidelines. A full three days of blind tasting across a total of 544 wines.

The judging team included 10 senior judges including guest judge Stephen Wong MW as well as six associates. Chief judge was Marlborough Winemaker Ben Glover. Ben says the team is an excellent, cohesive, thought-provoking judging base.

“There are an exceptional bunch of judges in the Marlborough region, and it’s always good, as a collective, to get together and taste the region’s amazing wines within a judging forum,” he said.

Top performing wines are rewarded with gold, silver and bronze medals. Trophy winners will be announced at the Celebration Long Lunch planned for Thursday 18th November.

Saint Clair wines achieving highly acclaimed gold medal status are:

Saint Clair Omaka Reserve Chardonnay 2020

Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Saint Clair Origin Pinot Noir 2020

Saint Clair Pioneer Block 6 Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Saint Clair Pioneer Block 10 Pinot Noir 2020

Saint Clair Pioneer Block 15 Pinot Noir 2020

One Chardonnay, two Sauvignon Blanc’s and three Pinot Noir’s indicate that Saint Clair has a focus on quality wine production across different varietals as well as price points. These gold medals provided from the relevant and credible platform of the Marlborough Wine Show, further cements Saint Clair’s reputation as a leading New Zealand wine producer.
