Update from Mainfreight

Mainfreight would like to keep you informed about the effects of the coronavirus on the New Zealand market. The company keeps a close eye on developments and takes measures to protect its team and customers, while also trying to keep its services as normal as possible.

After the government announcement of the extension of Alert Level 4, Mainfreight released this service update.

“As a community we are all faced with expanding numbers of close contacts linked to places of interest, forcing increased numbers to self-isolate.  As a consequence, we are operating with skeleton shifts in place to help mitigate the risk of having to close any of our sites.

As we face these challenges, our teams continue to maintain services for our customers. We remind all customers that services may be delayed as we maintain safe operating practices, and with reduced volumes.  We kindly ask that this is a constant message to all parties as we collectively navigate the restrictions.

Residential deliveries continue to require stricter delivery protocols compared to business locations, as we need to first establish the household’s COVID-19 status to avoid breaching Ministry of Health instructions.

Other details are available from your Account Manager or local branch to assist with residential delivery protocols.  A reminder that no household or branch pick-up/collections are available under Alert Level 4 settings.

We wish to specially acknowledge the difficult role our Drivers face each day; we appreciate the help they are receiving from our customers who exhibit patience and encouragement.  Thank you from all our teams for the ongoing support from our New Zealand and offshore customers.

We remain available in all local regions to assist or answer any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.”
