Jacinda Ardern has announced that all of New Zealand is remaining at Alert Level 4 for an additional four days - until midnight Friday. The alert level settings will be reviewed again on Friday.
Auckland will remain in Alert Level 4 until midnight Tuesday August 31.
“Auckland, your time in Level 4 needs to be the full 14 day cycle,” Ardern said. "Our plan has worked before and together we can make it work again.”
She explained that the government didn't want to take any risks with Delta, but that the extended times are good check in points for moving forward. The Alert Level extension will allow for more time for investigations and mapping of possible spread.
