Stoneleigh Announces a New sustainability Project

New Zealand wine brand Stoneleigh has announced its new sustainability campaign 'Nature This One's On Us.' The initiative will support projects across the country with a donation of $500,000 that is set to be split between three chosen charities.

“We believe getting back to nature means giving back to nature. Every act counts, whether we’re planting seeds or building an entire wetland ecosystem. At the end of the day what’s good for nature, is good for us," said Stoneleigh's Chief Winemaker, Jamie Marfell.

For the new campaign, Stoneleigh is letting its customers decide where the diversity funds should go. With every purchase of Stoneleigh wine from now until 31 December 2022, customers can scan a QR code and receive a 'Stoneleigh Coin' which can then be used to allocate a portion of the funds towards one of three charities. Each 'Stoneleigh Coin' is considered a vote, and the charities will receive a monetary donation based on the percentage of coins they receive from customers.

The charities customers can choose to support include The Marlborough Falcon Conservation Trust is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of New Zealand's only endemic falcon species - the Karearea. The Conservation Volunteers of New Zealand brings people together to plant and restore the environment across the country. The Native Forest Restoration Trust purchases land with ecological significance and long-term sustainability and then restores native forests.

“We’re so pleased to be able to have the opportunity to work closely with our consumers and make this a collaborative process. We know our Stoneleigh fans truly care for the environment and we’re looking forward to giving them this opportunity to tell us where to allocate our donations across three very worthy charities.”

The 'Nature This One's On Us' campaign runs from 1 May to 31 December 2022.
