Exporting 101: An Introduction to OMARs

If you are wanting to export your food or beverage product overseas, then you are going to need to know and understand Overseas Market Access Requirements (or OMARs).

Wrapping your head around everything you need to know when it comes to exporting can be an overwhelming experience, luckily, the Exporter Regulatory Advice Service is running monthly Exporting 101 sessions for new or existing exporters who want a better understanding of MPI's requirements for exporting primary products from New Zealand.

The second of six sessions will cover understanding Overseas Market Access Requirements (OMARs).

During the session, you’ll learn about:

  • what OMARs are and how they fit into the export framework
  • what the difference is between an OMAR, OMAR notification, FYI, and GREX
  • how to access OMARs and stay up to date
  • dos and don'ts when reading an OMAR.

Please note this webinar will cover OMARs in general and will not be market-specific.

Future sessions will cover topics such as Export Certification, e-commerce, and risk-based measures (national programmes, food control plans, and risk management programmes or RMPs).

This upcoming webinar will be held Tuesday 29 June 2021 at 12pm. It will take about 30 minutes, including time for questions and answers.
